Integrated Programme for Elimination of Child Labour through Educational, Vocational and Recreational Programme for Child Laborers. - Ongoing Project

Why?

Child Labor is a 'harsh' reality in Chittoor. Magnitude of child employment in Chittoor area is such an alarming. Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh is highly drought-prone area and thus the entire rural population suffering from the vagaries of nature and pangs of poverty are left with no better alternatives. Child labour is predominantly presents in Chittoor. There are vast number of children working in various hazardous industries


How?

One of the most pressing obligations could be to work to eliminate bonded and forced labors from hazardous work and worked by the very young ones. The proposed programme aims to provide "protection and welfare" orientation programme to these child laborer. The following are activities:(1) Child Labour enrolment (2) Promoting Meaningful Education (3)Child Labour prevention campaign (4) Alternate sources for mothers of these children (5)Main streaming of children into regular Government Schools.

Qualitative Outcome Indicators


1.Increased enrolment in early learning programmes especially girl children.
2. Increased transition between primary and secondary education.
3. Increase in school attendance both in primary and high schools.
4. Increased capacities of education staff to deliver child friendly and inclusive teaching.
5. Improved students knowledge, skills, attitudes and learning.

Quantitative Outcome Indicators


1. 124 children will be removed from child labour and enrolled in education completing full cycle of their schooling.
2. Number of children enrolled in Primary and high Schools.
3. Reduction in child labor ratio.
4. Evidence of whether or not labor inspectors inspecting for child labor.
5. Number of active based child protection mechanisms.

I also certify that the organization and I will abide by the terms and conditions of the grant/fund as established by granter/funder. I further certify that all received funds/grants will be used exclusively for the purpose stated in this proposal unless I normally request and receive prior authorization from funder for any changes. Further, I understand that if the funding is granted for the project described above it will be for an initial period of ONE year and can be extended, if necessary, by renewing the proposal. Also, regular status reports on the project will be provided by the organization to funder for the duration of the funding.
