Home for Mentally Challenged - New Project


In Kancheepuram Coastal area more than 250 children with multiple disabilities. These children face difficulty in getting support for education, medical, aids and appliances.Lack of awareness on disabilities among parents& community and as a result disabled children suffer in their education , health and day to day life. we need to Educate this disabled children so as to lead a self supportive role and mainstream their in the society in the goal of the project.


Starting a special school for children with disabilities providing special Education with specialized teachers. Creating awareness among their family and community on concept of disability, causes and prevention and early identification and intervention for Children with Disabilities. providing regular physiotherapy to reduce their disability level. After the intervention to enrollment in mainstream schools to receive normal education.

Expected Achievement

150 children @ 50 per year enrolled in mainstream school. village level awareness in 90 villages @ 30 village per year. 300 families benefited in the area ( 100 per year). National Identity card for 250 disabled children. Aids & appliances obtained from Government of India for 120 children( having aid, calipers, carnor sheet, crutches etc)per year. Disability welfare Board financial assistance for 120 children
240 per year ( Scholarship, maintenance grant, death claim, educational support etc).

I further certify that all received funds/grants will be used exclusively for the purpose stated in this proposal unless I normally request and receive prior authorization from funder for any changes. Further, I understand that if the funding is granted for the project described above it will be for an initial period of ONE year and can be extended, if necessary, by renewing the proposal. Also, regular status reports on the project will be provided by the organization to funder for the duration of the funding.
