Educational Development For Rural Children.

Project Proposal

Educational Development For Rural Children. - Ongoing Project

Rachana is making intervention in educational issues like high school drop outs in rural area. We were confronted with the issue of high school drop outs in villages spread within 70 kilometers radius around Panshet village in velhe tehasil of District Pune. These Villages do not have schools after 4th grade or 7th grade.

Some villages are difficult to reach since they cannot be reached by automotive facilities. Wherever meager transportation facilities are available, parents do not afford to pay for the transportation cost of commuting to the school in another village. Majority of parents are small land owners and agricultural labours. So hostel program was launched for this children in 2003 in Panshet village.

At present 95 children are getting benefits of the hostel program. These children attend the Government aided School in Panshet village and complete their schooling up to 10th grade. A teacher is engaged to conduct supportive classes for these children to provide necessary input for improving their scholastic performance.

The children get lodging and boarding facilities, educational material like school uniforms, text books, notebooks and other essential things under this program.

As Rachana Organization believes in the integrated development education of children, implements activities like sports, yoga exercises , drawing ,painting ,newspaper reading, groups discussions, educational trips, , books library , science experiments and performances of street plays etc.
