ICT based School Transport Management

Project Proposal

ICT based School Transport Management - New Project

The Right to Education (RTE) provides for free and compulsory education to children of 6-14 years of age. However, enrolling child in a school is not sufficient, but proving a school transport is equally important. School transport needs to be managed efficiently and the children safety is utmost important criteria in the process. Manual processes are error prone, inefficient and tedious, especially when the numbers are large. ICT based solution can address this problem effectively.

DSS, along with its technology partner, is developing an innovative model of data collection from hundreds of on-field centers, fixed and moving. Within the scope of this project, a mobile application will be built to record every child's attendance and learning levels on daily basis. The app can be installed on a smartphone or tablet or a stand-alone device, which will be handed over to DSS staff. Every child will be issued with an ID card with unique QR code that can be read by using the app.
